Velázquez Spanish for Foreigners

Velázquez School is a school of Spanish language for international students and residents in Madrid.

As part of the company The British Centre S.A. , Dating back to 1967, the year from which Spanish courses for foreign students are organized in Madrid, mainly British and Americans.

In 2002 it takes the trade name “Velázquez Spanish for Foreigners”, gradually incorporating international students from other nationalities. Currently, Velázquez School hosts a variety of students from all countries and continents of the world, becoming a close melting pot of cultures and languages with the common denominator of learning Spanish.


Located in the neighborhood of Salamanca, one of the most renowned neighborhoods of Madrid, next to the Retiro Park.

Velázquez Spanish for Foreigners is located in one of the most emblematic and elegant neighborhoods of Madrid. Its name comes from Marqués de Salamanca, an aristocrat of the nineteenth century. It is one of the most renowned districts of Madrid with places such as

  • Neuralgic areas of the city: Paseo de Recoletos, Cibeles, Plaza de Colón
  • Golden Mile: luxury shops on Calle Serrano, Velázquez, Goya and Alcalá.
  • Cultural centers: Archaeological Museum, National Library, Student Residence. Near Museo del Prado, Thyssen and Reina Sofia Museum.
